It is considered the biggest sports event of Europe’s business schools: the WHU Euromasters in Vallendar, Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 1997, students from universities all over Europe have met to compete in a range of sports. Every year on the first weekend in November, more than 2,000 students from Europe’s leading universities compete in basketball, cheerleading, football, rowing, relay running, volleyball and even e-sports.
Taking part for more than ten years: the “FS Bulls are Coming” team from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Hesse. Coordinating, cheering on and motivating 130 team members in a sports hall filled with thousands of students turns out to be a particularly difficult task every year.
The five TM-17M megaphones came just at the right moment and proved to be a versatile, powerful problem solver. The MP3 playback function for announcements or anthems made this challenging task considerably easier too. Anthems and chants could be played back loudly enough for everyone in the team to hear them and join in. With the megaphones the team not only managed to out-shout the competition but also to spare their vocal cords — in previous years it had been a case of “no voice, but plenty of spirit” after just one day.
The support of the five MONACOR speech amplifiers did not go unnoticed: “Can you lend us one of your good megaphones? Ours have had no power since yesterday and are hardly as loud as yours anyway,” remarked a student from a friendly team. Beyond the many sporting successes the FS team achieved at this year’s Euromasters, the Frankfurt School won the Spirit Cup. This award goes to the university or team that conveyed the most spirit across the event. A decisive part in that success: the five MONACOR TM-17M megaphones.
